My favorite Pantera album: it's just so pissed off, angry, aggressive stuff, I especially dig Anselmo's vocals here (I know they're layered but it just makes it better), and the backing up by Seth Putnam. Definitely an underrated gem.

I don't know. I've listened to Pantera every time I've lifted weights for the past three years and this is the only album I still choose to listen to. I have probably listened to each studio album over a hundred times (about two each workout) and this one just never gets old. At first I didn't really get into it but it has become my favorite. I can think of very few albums that I have listened to this much and still love. It is ugly as hell and the riffs are deceptively simple but it just blows the other albums away, IMHO. To the Children of Bodom guys, respect but just try nailing Dimebag's sound, not just the frets on the guitar. There is a bit more to it and that speaks beyond Bodom to me. I've been playing guitar for 14 years and I would say it's much easier to cop Bodom than a true Dimebag sound. Bodom=stock shred Dimebag=character. I like character. Bodom makes my balls hurt. That is all.

i think this is the worst of the first four pantera albums with phil. Especially with Seth Putnam's backup screams. It bores me cuz for once the intensity seems forced and unnatural. Though Floods and Drag The Waters are great songs.
