This really isn't that bad for mainstream pop. In fact, Time is an exceptionally good pop song and others like the title track, Take Me Alive, and Climbing Up The Walls are pretty good as well. The rest are at least par for the course.
I mean seriously, you have no excuse to like any current chart-topping pop if you can't get into this. If you ain't a pop fan, then that's one thing, but otherwise you would be very inconsistent--and more likely than not just hating on Cornell for the fun of it.

I suspect I'll get my first neg soon, cauz sometime I plan on reviewing this and I freakin' love it.
One of the largest, most popular growing music magazines in the world (Classic Rock) gave it a very generous review, but other than that I think I'm completely alone here.

Haha I'll look out for it. As long as it's well written then no one should care about whether it's good or bad, people really need to learn the difference between a shit review and a person's opinion.
Nothing can persuade me that this isn't woeful, though.

Can't listen to any Chris Cornell-related album without hearing "Like A Stone" in my head. That song fucking ruined him for me.

Better to try something new and fall flat on your face, than to keep doing the same thing over and over again.

^ exactly. i can at least respect him for trying something like this, even if it didn't turn out like he thought it would.
and he did make a few 'rock remixes' of some of the songs here, so it shows he's not just sweeping this under the rug, he's embracing failures and making something out of nothing

as i said before i don't see how somebody who is a fan of pop music can't find something good about
this.this album is a prototype for the new timberlake record no way this record deserves the hate it
gets.

Kinda late to the party here, but yeah, this gets a lot more hate than it deserves. Personally, I prefer it to Carry On. I'm hoping he makes an acoustic studio release in the vein of Songbook at some point. That's where his voice really shines nowdays.

Experimentation gone wrong.

a friend of mine in college was a huge chris cornell fan, and i remember when he heard about this he was so pissed that this was the direction he was going in.
i don't ever plan on hearing this though

Not a bad plan. It's mediocre overall, so there's no real reason to listen to it if you're not a big CC fan. I just don't think it merits the amount of hate it gets, especially when compared to the last few CC releases leading up to it.

not a cornell fan at all. he's got a great voice no doubt but i'm not particularly fond of anything he's done save for a few audioslave / soundgarden jams
