Watching the sun rise over Uluru is also one of the best things you could ever see. Woke up at 4am to do that shit, fucking Outback is cold at that hour. Worth it.

Would I like this if I don't like karnivool's sound awake?

they aren't as similar as they're made out to be IMO, vocalists sound completely different, this is a little edgier too (still has a nice mix of prog in it too though like sound awake)

Precisely why I'm apprehensive about listening to this but will check it out anyway

I tried but youtube fails me, could only find a 24 second song and a lot of unrelated stuff

Why not?

How the hell didn't this band make it? If there was ever a band that deserved to make it but didn't, it was COG.

It wasn't shit, not anywhere near as good as this but not shit. I quite enjoyed it in most parts but again not as much as this.

no i don't
for the kind of music that these guys made, they did remarkably well for themselves

Oh in that context I get what you mean but I still it pisses me off when bands this talented are known by such a small number of people.

it's a catch 22 though
if they got more popular than they were, most people would start calling them sellouts

Just be thankful we got three albums worth of songs from them and listen to their new projects.
Australia has loads of bands that are every bit as deserving as Cog were in terms of recognition for their work. For these
guys their heart just wasn't in it anymore.
