to quibble slightly about a minor point as Im feelin pedantic - the Backstreet boys werent the innovators of boybands, maybe in America but in the UK many a boyband proceeded them Take that for example actually bigger than BSBs...anyways Nirvana were the best band of the 90s full stop if you want to quibble then they were the biggest band of the 90s and this was their biggest album and musically it dont sound bad mate!

I was just about to comment on that. The whole white, boyband pop sound is basically a revival of what the Beach Boys did in the 60's and anyway the backstreet boys were created by that Pearlman guy to emulate New Kids on the Block.

I dont know about a 5 but this albums at least worth a 2.5/5.This Message Edited On 03.01.06

the 5 is to irritate all the whingers about kurt - not necessarily how good the album is - if i was generous id give it 4 - but 3.5 is about right!

This is the best of Nirvana. In Utero is so overrated, save for the singles, and Bleach is noisy.

In Utero is only overrated if you're a Nevermind fanboy.

I resent that comment Scruples. Im entitled to my opinion and i happen to find that Nevermind is Nirvana's best album. To be perfectly frank, I dont like Nirvana all that much anymore save for this and Unplugged. The melodic side of Nirvana was amzing, not the scream yer ass out on In Utero.

That was the tr00 Nirvana, though. Not the mainstream, radio-friendly Nirvana. This Message Edited On 03.05.06

Good review. Honestly (tallking to the whole rock and roll world) where would we all be with out this album. Stuck in a dead end 9 to 5 job. Bending over for the man every day so we can go home and watch effing Sportscenter. without this album i wouldn't have learned to play the guitar. In other words without this album, I would not have been turned to rock and roll.

All you haters out there best show some respect for your elders.

I totally disagree with the review. It deserves 5 and it is classic, for me.
