the highs are really fucking high on this but it also has more lacklustre songs than hunky for me (it ain't easy, star, hang on to yourself)

yeah i prefer hunky dory to this. this album is obviously incredible but i don't necessarily think it deserves the amount of attention it gets over his other albums. hunky, low, heroes, and scary monsters are all easily better yet this has twice as many ratings as anything in his discog

It Ain't Easy is the least awesome here. Hunky Dory has Fill Your Heart? Song For Bob Dylan isn't that great either to me

ahhh I love Kooks! like the most charming chorus ever. also he rhymes dry with dry in one verse. and still rules. same deal in Golden Years. rhymes years with years. he rules so hard it doesn't even matter

i love kooks so much haha

agree that this gets too much attention compared to some of his better records but i spose the whole image he had going at the time was a defining point in his career so

meh this is near perfect to me. this, Low and Station to Station are my three favourites. Hunky Dory and Heroes and maybe Diamond Dogs just below. then Aladdin Sane and Scary Monsters
