Thanks for the heads-up. I listened to some of his newer stuff from the 2012 warp tour and you're right, much of the barking seal effect is gone.
That said, doesn't it sound like they are playing a half-step lower? Don't get me wrong I'd rather hear half-step down sung in key than the barking seal, but that might explain part of the improvement.
Also, even with Buddy singing in key again, their live stuff is badly missing the harmonies from Heath and Garrett. Hoping the new guys can step up and learn to play and sing at the same time.
