Ribs for lunch? I'd hate to see your dinner then.

Peanut butter? Are you certain you aren't American Captain North? At least play up the Oz stereotype of Vegemite, Kangaroos bounding down the streets & wrestling crocodiles!

Influential? Hardly, a lot of bands were doing the same thing at around the same time. The Strokes just happened to do it better and got more attention for it.

Good albums? Hell friggin yes! I loved all three Strokes albums, and I dig Albert Hammond Jr's stuff as well.

Personally, I'm not sure I am the person to even comment on how influential they were. But as for whether or not the albums were good or not, I'd say "Good, but over-rated". Hammond held some songs together & I simply am not a fan of Casablancas at all.

Julian is sexy as hell, and has a wonderful tone to his voice.

Wonderful tone? I can hardly understand him at times. Just like your boy Kele.

Don't get me started on how good Kele's voice is.

The tone of when he's singing smoothly in the baritone is really nice, and when it's rougher (third verse of Reptilia as an example), it fits perfectly.

I guess we just have different taste in men.

Dave, you've actually mentioned 2 songs (Juicebox & Reptilia) that I also really like. I suppose I more have issues with some of the tracks off 'Is This It' which was their album which received the highest praise.

Thanks goes to Brent (MARKSELLSUSWALLETS) for pointing me in the right direction to get the track ordering fixed... I can't believe it lasted that long with 2 tracks so incorrect.

The Modern Age is so friggin' good. It's not my favourite Strokes record, though.

Nah, the 2.6 average rating here is deserved. I may have passed it if they did call it 'Wiggly. Beatles.'

Yeah, the 2 albums are so different, it's difficult to imagine people liking both. It's either one or the other.

I think it's fair to state that this album is what broke the band in half.

The whole vibe of the album just turned me off. Kinda says to me "The Beatles aren't that hard to cover".

It's my opinion and what I got from this, their whole wardrobe and retro feel for this points to that... I can't lie about the way I feel about this.
