a definite return to form, anyone who says its not is just taking a swipe at metallica for the sake of it...or else they're megadeth fans kiddin!

agree that the solos arent exactly great or memorable but the vast amount of fantastic riffs more than make up for this!Dont get me wrong, i usually love kirks solos but i dont think he tried his hardest on this album

only negative aspects are the uninventive solos and when james sings above his range

Kirk's solo's sound like a smart*ss response to the fans complaints towards St Anger having no solo's. In other words, what was going through Kirk's mind was "if it's fast, it's good." Same with St Anger seemed like a smart*ss response to the fans complaints towards the band "not being metal anymore."

I think for me it'd be:

MoP>RTL>AJFA>DM>K'mA>Black

AJFA > MoP > RTL > KEA = DM > Black > Reload > Load > St. Anger

why does everyone not like kill 'em all, its like their fastest, and most guitar talented album, it really confuses me

Bad sound quality. Like...really bad lol KeA is probably their heaviest album, but certainly not their most guitar talented. the next 3 Metallica albums are more musically diverse andmuch more technical

i guess you could argue their more technical, but their nowhere near as good guitar solo wise

"BTW Rust in Peace has 666 votes :O"

You think that's cool? My friend played Number Of The Beast on Guitar Hero III and his playing streak was 666

Somebody a couple pages back hit the nail on the head with the description of "surprisingly good."

Very solid album. The vocals across the entire album are better than I had expected and the riffs are definitely cool.

The obvious low points are Lars' drumming and the lack of bass in the mix. If you listen close, the bass does some cool stuff in a couple songs--it's just that you can't ever hear it.

I thought the bass was quite audible
