Damnation's one of their best. It's certainly better than this.
I am currently going insane listening to this album.
You're not the only one.

Got this today actually without having heard one bit of any of the songs except Heir Apparent (live*). Don't think I have ever listened to an Opeth album seven times a day, and it's still going! I don't know, everytime Hex Omega ends I want to hear Coil again; sooo good...

only good thing about the album is that when reversed, the girl in "Coil" says "i want to suck Eliminator's dick"

Leave it to Eliminator to give this a 1.5. Oh, Nick, your sound-off is really good lol. I am being serious though, good job.

Exactly this, I've played this at least 20 times since I've had it, and when the CD is in my hands, I'll play it 20 more. Can't even say that about Still Life.

great review. I've been listening to this a lot. Really really good. Unfortunately they didn't play lotus eaters or porcelain hearts when I saw them live. They did play Heir Apparent though.

Ya, "Demon of the Fall" wouldn't be the best of tracks to start them off on.This Message Edited On 06.03.08

this album has grown on me almost 100% but that may have been because of the non-stop listening since the leak in april. Thought the album is great in traditional Opeth fashion. Maybe not Blackwater or even Ghost Reverie, but I try not to do a compair Opeth albums. Kinda disappointed with the fact that Mikael said this was an "Extremely dark, heavy, complex album" when its almost the complete opposite and easy to get into. HOW ARE THE BONUS TRACKS AND ARE THEY HEAVY??!! cause that might be the reason for purchase.
