It's great music sure, but their vocalist sounds like a complete douchebag.

What a feat to balance irony, humour, and religious sincerity in this way. Never heard anything like it, never will. In a strange way, this record has done more to get me interested in religion than anything else. I bought and read Paradise Lost after being intrigued with the lyrics on The Ground so Soft, which has been a great experience. I have laughed and cried listening to this. Don't you boys know nothing? The USA's the center of Jerusalem.

np, hearing this on vinyl for the 2nd time and legit hearing guitars and things i didn't know were there
calling this shoegaze is almost a disservice, probably the most singular american rock album ever made

Re: Paradise Lost,
Lost my marbles when I realized "These are the days that must happen to you" was a Walt Whitman line -- recommended reading alongside this album.
Bump.
