I've had the promo since March and I would have to say that this album is better than their upcoming release, but it definitely shows a new side of them. Also, if you haven't heard their Daemonarch side project, you're missing out. They have one album under that name called Hermeticum and it's basically all of Moonspell, but without their drummer.

Well this is easily the best I've heard from this band so it's not a surprise that it won't be quite as good. As for the side project, I'll definitely have to look into it.
