my favorite band of all time. Foo Fighters have yet to write a bad song or create something less than masterpiece. in your honor is absolutely perfect. great review, great album, great band.

There are some excellent songs on Disc 1 but in my opinion there is a bit of fill. I am in love with Disc 2 though. It opens a door into the hearts of Dave and the OTHERS. I love another round, learned it on guitar, fun to play. Now I only wish I could play the harmonica. Good review.

the soft side is way to boring. but the other side is great

I'm no Foo Fan, but I remember prior to its release Grohl said this would be the album that ten years from now people would be giving to their kids... but from what i've heard this album doesn't have much staying powere at all... it's only been what, 6 months since its release and this album is already pretty forgotten. The album that most Foo fans (and even I) remember greatly is the Colour and the Shape because it was a great album... this not so much so and from what I have heard blinkchillie hit it straight on. Many people's main issue with this album is that the acoustic album is boring

Yeah The Colour and the Shape was better. I do like the idea of a hard disc and a soft rock disc though. Basically ever song on the hard disc is very good, and the soft disc is beautiful. I love "Virginia Moon" w/ Norah Jones, and "Cold Day in the Sun" w/ Taylor Hawkins doing vocals.

i love the first disk, but the second disk disipointed me.

The concept of the album grew on me, its actually pretty neat that way. This is their comeback album, when I first saw the preview on iTunes in Spring 05 I was psyched. Most would probably feel that after One By One they dk where the Foos would have gone but this was the comeback album and they sure made a statement.

Must admit i've always keenly followed the foo's tours, albums, singles(for the b-sides) but this latest record was a big disappointment. The rock half rarely ups the tempo and seems to be rock by numbers and the accoustic half just doesn't have the heart of most other mellowed examples of foo classicness.

love foo fighters but this album was pretty disappointing, good review though

I think this is the FF's worst album. It sounds rushed, like they're just slapped all their ideas down without really bothering to filter out the bad ones.
Best Of You and DOA are too overplayed - In Your Honour is the best song, no question.
One By One > TCATS > In Your Honour

TCATS, TINLTL, IYH, FF, OBO. best albums in order, imo.
