Stinkfist has a simple structure and isn't very complicated, but the texture and build-ups of the song are unmatched. It really is an amazing song to me.This Message Edited On 11.20.05

I totally agree with that. Those first two songs are just so incredibly awesome.

Don't know if anyone has mentioned this but there are at least two versions of the album (both with the exact same tracks).

There's the animated one with several slides you can put in the front and animate, and it has the guy in like, a knot (I'd rather not assume what he's doing) on the cover of the cd, then there's the other version with the white square that's leaking in all directions and its cd cover has some symbols with Astaroh written along the outside.

I am lucky to own both versions.

Not a bad review, ParariddleDiddle, but great review, OpiateTheMasses. I love this album, easy 5/5 for me. The non-filler tracks are all excellent. Can't pick one favorite.

Aenima is still not as good as Lateralus, but its still a awesome album. Stinkfist and 46&2 are standouts, all songs but the filler tracks are excellent, would Tool ever make a song that wasnt excellent lol! Great review/s aswell.

What if it was intended to be a man hooker and they didn't know the term gigolo back in 96'?

This is sort of an... odd topic. Mayanard puts a lot of meaning in his lyrics, I'm sure Hooker With A Peni$ is no exception.

Hooker with a penis is about the band being accused of selling out... Something like that... I don't remember exactly... Long time since I read the lyrics...

Tool are amazing and along with Lateralus, Aenima is absolutely incredible. There are not many bands whom I can listen to for hours on end (Opeth maybe or In Flames) but TooL appear to keep me enagaged. Hooker With A Penis is an amazing song but I certainly don't have a clue what its about.

Hooker with a penis is not exactly stooped in meaning, it is simply mocking the poser fans of Tool who pretend to have been fans since the beginning of Tool's career. If you read the lyrics on their own it is easy to see.

And this album is easily superior compared with Lateralus.

I've only just started listening to Tool and this album, but Eulogy and Hooker With a P3nis are Fuckamazing. I love the chorus to Third Eye, it just jumps out at you from nowhere

Ive heard alot of people come out with "Aenima is the best Tool album". it is good, but nothing will ever beat Lateralus in my eyes. Lateralus just boasts so much musical talent, Reflection, Lateralus, The Grudge, and most of all my all time favourite duo of Parabol-Parabola. There are lows in this album, and thats suprising for Tool.

Agreed:Parabol/Parabola is one hell of an amazing song and I find a few of the songs on Aenima, like Push1t, more average than their stuff on Lateralus.

Musical talent =/= good music. I like Aenima more because it has much more of a distinct sound... There are points in Lateralus where I get bored; don't get me wrong, it's a great album... it just isn't nearly as inspired as this one, IMO.

Bitchin album by a bitchin band! IMO got the best bassist ever! Some of the things they write are so imaginitive and never tried before. They are so experimental using different sounds while still having a heavy/distorted sound. Got into these guys around a year ago and love them, by far my fave band now! H is my favourite sound, its so funky without being, if you get me.
Completly agree wiht the points about some tracks being pointless. First time you lsiten to the album it seems alrite but when you get into it you just wanna hear the actual tracks, all of which are awesome!
