"The production may be a put off to some, i think it fits perfectly, though there are some who can't take mediocre production."

A truly magnificent album that, while two of its songs do sound similar to one another, still manages to retain the one thing that made bathory stand out from the crowd all those years ago: the songwriting. Every song here (including the powerful opener 'Odens ride over nordland' and excluding the wasteful 'Unknown') is supported by strong, thunderous guitar work, and epic soundscapes that almost made this a true viking metal album upon its release. Brilliance of this level surely cannot be repeated.

This album is probably my favorite Bathory album of all time, and it is still better than most of what the black metal and viking metal communities have ever put out. Not degrading those genres, I do love them, but this album destroys everything. A Fine Day to Day might be one of the greatest songs ever written.
