Hell yeah. Crysis have you taken the time to check out Anacrusis, Thought Industry or Voivod? If you can appreciate this then you would love those too (I checked your ratings and didn't see those bands).
Anacrusis - Manic Impressions or Screams&Whispers (both albums are free on their website)
Thought Industry - Mods Carve the Pig or Songs For Insects
Voivod - Dimension: Hatross

No, I haven't listened to those bands. I've heard of Voivod and Thought Industry, but I'll give all three a listen later tonight. Thanks for the rec's.

Wizard finally checked that album out a few days back and is loving it.

I love the musical aspect of this album. The vocals are annoying, but I have been able to get past them as of late.

Maybe it's all the Rush I've soaked up, but the vocals on this don't faze me a bit. Dude just has a high voice...he sounds a lot like Bruce Dickinson with a screechier, Geddy Lee-ish top end.
As for the music, I was pretty surprised to hear how much this sounds like late-era Death.

As for the music, I was pretty surprised to hear how much this sounds like late-era Death. It's only a minor wording issue, but it really should be "how much late-era Death sounds like this" ;)

Hahaha true. I always think of these things in the order I'VE listened/seen, but yeah. Schuldiner even cited them as an influence, but it didn't hit me till I listened.

If you like this I have to (again) point out that you need a few other albums too:
Anacrusis - Manic Impressions (free: http://anacrusis.us/media%20files/MP3/Albums/Albums.html )
Voivod - Dimension: Hatross
Thought Industry - Songs for Insects (and Mods Carve the Pig if you're feeling really adventerous).

I dunno why, but I actually like the vocals. And Im not one to usually like high metal vocals. I dunno, but it works for me.

I'm used to the vocals now, but I do wish they had done something different with them.

once again the cliche of an album's "flaw" being bitched and bitched about simply because someone once bitched about it. from what i've heard on this, the vocals aren't that bad. if you want really bad high pitched thrash vocals, listen to the first forbidden album, or better yet even just the first 2 songs from it. some of metal's worst vocals there.

This is pretty awesome. Kinda got used to the vocals rather quickly. I actually think the high-pitched vocals work fine with the energetic and unpredictable music. Especially digging Mayday in Kiev, Fall of Reason, title track and Life Cycles. Thinking 4-4.5.
