I'll admit that ICP is not my kind of thing, but they're an acquired taste. They are at least more credible than frickin' SlipKnot. SlipKnot was basically put together by some record label to cash in on a trend. I'll be honest with you, I find bands with masks, makeup, etc. to be gimmicky.

Oh please. Slipknot has so much more talent then ICP it's laughable. First of: They play instruments and they are actually decent at them. Right there, that's better. Secondly: Joey Jordison is one of today's most talented metal drummers. I could go on, honestly, but there's no need. If Slipknot is a gimmick ICP are whores.

You've essentially just said that metal is better than rap, which is peculiar considering how much Slipknot, and Limp Bizkit, and Linkin Park, and Papa Roach, and pretty much every nu metal band out there (who are practically indistinguishable in terms of sound) are heavily influenced by that genre, and especially by groups who "don't play instruments" (excluding turntables, drums, and any other instrument used to create even the most musically limited rap).

Slipknot are not that talented. They are average at best. Basically, they have more musicians than they actually need. They've got 9 band members (previously 13), but the music they produce sounds the same as if it were performed by a 4 or 5-member band. It's as if they basically credited 9 people, but only 4 of the band members actually played on it.

Slipknot doesn't have that much talent. You know who has a lot of talent in the metal genre? Black Sabbath, Sepultura, Anthrax, Metallica, Soulfly...very few nu metal musicians have any talent at all. Slipknot are among the worst of the genre.
