no, THIS album isnt an aquired taste, at least for most people. im talking about metal in general. this is entry level as fuck. also, i wasnt knocking your rating. i just pointed out that you called metal shit and had this at a 5. then i said that this is just entry level stuff. and if you read what i said again, i said this is a fun album and probably my favorite of theirs. its just that ive been listening to metal for years and years now and it doesnt impress me enough anymore to 5 it. this is very basic melodic death metal.

LOL, this site blows man. Metal-archives ranks this album the highest of Amon Amarth, and they rank Deicide's Legion album the highest, just a tad bit better than their debut. If I want metal advice, I'll go get it from people that actually know what the fuck they are talking about, and not some jackass troll's opinion on this site.

Brilliant way to start you career, especially for a band such as Amon Amarth. Hegg's vocals aren't exactly perfect but they are suitable for the death metal barrage of heavy riffs and rumbling basslines. A great album in my opinion.
