..Yeah but, Parkway Drive isn't crappy hardcore..

That's YOUR opinion. I think Parkway Drive have some redeeming qualities (ie. Winston), but overall aren't anything special.

i wouldn't say parkway drive are a good live band. ive seen them 3 or 4 times and every time they get worse. this album would have been much worse if adam d didn't produce it. he may not be the greatest musician but hes a damn good producer

One time I saw them their sound was shit, but that was because of some technical fault not due to the band. I must have been lucky then, they've always been decent when I've seen them. I completely agree with you about Adam D.

This is the first album I've listen to from these guys and like everyone says it's decent at best.
The Siren's Call was a wicked intro though, I was like "damn I hope the rest of the albums like this"........no dice.

their last album was better, but this is still a good listen.

Check out their first album, it's a little better than this.

Check out their first few EP's and splits. They're better still, IMO. Not as polished, but hardcore should never really sound like it's been ran through a thousand digital processes, anywho.

i'd also say that these guys are an amazing live band. they really work the crowd. and like no one around here had heard of them and they opened for killswitch and the pit was absolutely insane.

i think the metal scene, including metal core, and thrash, death, whatever you want, are very saturated with talent. it sucks being in a band right now!! with guys that can play guitar and drum like PWD to be considered generic says to me, that theres a lot of talent in the scene right now, this isnt like the nu metal days, where anyone whos played guitar for two weeks and has 30 pedals can hang, this is a tough time for metal musicians right now, the competition is stiff. This Message Edited On 06.24.08

I would disagree with this. So much of it is mediocre and relentlessly uninspired. Sure, people can have talent all they like, but really music has to challenge and break new bounds, so many bands in those genres you list nowadays haven't even scratched any surfaces, let alone created anything new.

THERE'S BLOOD IN THE WATER.
Boneyards FTW. That is all.
Heard too many bands that sound like this. However I'll see what they're like live on the never say die tour when it comes round.

Man I hate this band so much I don't get why so many Australian kids listen to this ****. Really bland music all around, you mentioned their live show being good but when they played in Perth it was awful. Add to that some kid on my train the other day said that if people don't like Parkway they're gay, didn't sit with me well. Good review.
Cheers. The fanboys of this band are mostly idiots, so I wouldn't hold it to the band for that. However, I've seen these guys in Perth a few times, and only one time they were just okay, the other two they played really well. They're very energetic and get the crowd going, I thought. It's not really about the music in a Parkway Drive concert, it's more about the mosh.
