I think I might review Terrifyer soon. And Painter of Dead Girls, that CD is really overlooked.

Great review bro, amazing album.

I think the thrash influence (especially on the second half) was a bit overlooked.

And in all honesty, this album is more death metal than it is grind and you made that pretty clear.

It seems that a lot of people are into PD but don't really know enough about metal and all its sub-genres to actually pin the with them right ones.

Teriffyer appealed to a lot of converge loving scenesters(maybe for some of its metalcore tendencies) and they seem to just latch onto this one just because it's PD even though there are absolutely no metalcore influences on this one and anyone who claims PD are hardcore probably never even took the time to listen to this whole album or just haven't heard enough death/grind to decipher this from the last converge album they heard.

Sorry bout the rant, but i'm just a bit fed up with people who have been listening to extreme music for half a year and think they're experts.

Just my 2cents =)

I agree with most of that, except your Converge bash (:angry and when you said you heard a metalcore influence on Terrifyer. That album really doesn't have any metalcore on it at all.

Yes he did.

Yea I guess it's debatable.

personally I don't think Beneath the massacre or early Red Chord are very metalcore at all, so I guess its all good.

And I didn't mean to bash Converge.

I enjoy them, I just get pissed off that so many kids think they're fucking grindcore extraordinaires cuz converge did a split with agorophobic nosebleed.

Dark Funeral went on tour with Slipknot...

You get my drift.

BTM is and will always be Death Metal and early Red Chord is Grind/Death Metal with a very, very small splash of Metalcore.

Pig Destroyer is one of those bands you start listening to so you can piss your parents off. I haven't heard this album yet so I will not rate it, although 'Terrifyer' was not impressive. This is coming from a long time fan of noisegrind (A.C.). I can't even listen to that, except for nostaligic purposes.

Uhhh, why would you listen to a band for the sole pupose of pissing someone off?

Album isn't as solid as I thought it would be (considering all the praise I've read about this). Its still descent and way more versatile than Terrifyer.
