How do you figure Saosin is up on Anthony Green?
The fact that Cove Reber sucks live really hurts Saosin as a band. Anthony Green is a great singer, live or in studio and it shows by the amount of people that not only follow Circa Survive but him as a solo artist. This isn't an attempt at a progressive indie album, it's an album based on a movie. This album is based on the Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and if you watch the movie then listen to the album, you'll understand how each song flows and what they mean.

we already knew that what's your point

They failed on this album cause they tried to captured "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" into an album of music that you can feel musicaly instead of watching it and getting all emotional.
Ah this cd brings back good days though.
"You'd mean so much more to me, if I could remember you."

Circa haven't done anything special, but they could. In my opinion, so far in Circa's career, Anthony's songwriting is too psuedo-alternative - he had it right in Saosin, by keeping it melodic but orchestrating it in really memorable, non-generic ways. Lot's of the vocal melodies don't really work that well, i.e The Great Golden Baby. An example of when he got it (nearly) right would be "The Difference Between" on the next album, On Letting Go.
And they need to incorporate more styles. For example, Anthony's voice might work well with some keyboards or synth stuff.
The problem is they're experimental, but only experiment with one style.

Illuvator got it right, he needs to start screaming again. His vocal style is too homogenous to listen to for a full album, no matter how beautiful it is. Oh, and I thought the melody in The Great Golden Baby was one of their best...

I never get sick of this album, In Fear and Faith and House of Leaves blow me away, as do Anthony's vocals.

Definitely sounds like a rock album to me, plus thats what itunes labeled it so...
I can see what mars volta similarities you find in it though

Yeah anyone who hasn't seen eternal sunshine should do so asap. Blows my mind that anyone could think this is worse than "Saosin" though. If you don't like this, fine, but "Saosin" doesn't touch this, even for a second.

whoever wrote this review is a complete idiot. this album is an instant classic. there is really no bad part to this album at all, it is almost perfect. now i like the mars volta as much as anyone, but i hate the fans that think they are the end all be all only good band in music and anyone that ever writes music is obviously copying them, as this reviewer is.
5/5, anthony green is the greatest musician of our generation.

Haha I think circaboard.com was what you were looking for. Although I wouldn't be surprised if that
Great Golden Baby thing WAS something CS came up with (or thought they came up with) on their own.
Although I could see where you're coming from, I've never listened to this and thought of TMV. But I
do admit I'm probably a little biased on this album, I do think it should be better than 2.5 for
anyone. Review was still good though.
