kind of wish the production had a bit more oomph/bass, would really benefit songs like City Escape. Regardless, this rules

In that case, keep your expectations low for Act II's production, it's much worse. I don't think Act I sounds too bad but it's hard to the level of the last 2 acts. In fact I feel like production wasn't truly tightened until The Colour Spectrum.

my only frame of reference is TCS and parts of this feel fairly flat in comparison, those the production is not deal breaker thats for sure

Act III's production is weirdly the one I like the least; it sounds very too dense and meaty and loses a lot of dynamic range. This and Act II are passable I guess

act III is super frontloaded. the back half isn't bad, but everything through mustard gas is the best stretch of music in the acts

The last three tracks are fantastic, but that first portion is pretty damn good. I think it's my favourite Act tbh.

act II is still my favorite but act IV sounds better every day. kinda wish the vibe of the new one was closer to act IV tbh

Haven't heard the new one - am saving it for when I'm less fixated on Unwound, the Veils and Ulver. I do love Act IV, but it gets a bit iffy towards the end imo. Act II is never going to be a poor choice of favourite :P

I was a fan of Receiving End of Sirens live act and had a record store day vinyl of theirs, had no idea the singer was doing anything after that band.

Admittedly not much of a prog listener but this was intensely likable the first time around. Real consistent

Excited to see where the other acts go. Will keep at a 4 until I get a feel for the other records but I could see it going to a 4.5
