edit: it was good but way too short

why cant pop punk sound like this anymore. that bass tone alone is gnarly
|
| |
It evolved away from its hardcore roots.

seeing as how Dear You grew off me just a bit, I can finally say this is my favorite jawbreaker
the boat dreams is probably one of the best pop punk songs ever
|
| |
how come all other pop punk is absolute garbage compared to this
|
| |
but what about the screeching weasels and the Slickee Boys?
|
| |
never really considered this pop punk. feel like this is roughly as tuneful as Never Mind the Bollocks.

For some bizarre reason I don't have anything from this album and I do really like it too. I went through a huge Jawbreaker phase in the early/mid 2000s. And was following Blake Scharzenbach in bands such as Jets to Brazil, Thorns of Life (there were some others) heard Jawbreaker reunited at one point but I don't think any new music came from it. I was one of those people who heard Dear You first and I don't really remember. I think I saw Bivouac in a used cd section so I got that (I still have the original release). I actually have the original release and the re-release of Dear You on cd. I wouldn't bring that up normally, but I saw the OG Dear You at freaking Gamestop! Who sells a Jawbreaker cd to a gaming store? Anyhow it was only a few bucks so I had to buy it. I like Dear You, it destroyed the band since it massively flopped but even if it is a little generic and more polished than their older albums I like it and got me to look into the band more.
This may be my favorite one, and yet I don't even own it! I'm so strange. I might as well say Unfun is good but a bit long and many songs just blend together.

I have 'Ache' in my mind all the time now. Somewhere, somehow.

when is Jawbreaker doing the super bowl?
|
| |
At least Tom Petty did it , when he was alive........

The next Superbowl, well the best would be if somehow the Cure, Blink 182 and the Jawbreaker did a Superbowl. Technically this could happen but no one would care and it wouldn't be worth the money. It's somewhat like how Metallica never did a Super Bowl. Sell out. I do not think doing the Super Bowl is a sell out at all.
But haha there is no way Blink 182 is going to do the Super Bowl.
The reason why I think Metallica never did the Super Bowl was because they were too "heavy" and that's not what American Football is about I guess.
