doubt is the weakest on faith by a mile. if i was swapping any song for charlotte itd easily be that
i dont really think charlotte sometimes would have fit though. feels almost a bit more proto pornog than it feels cut from faiths own cloth

I won't tolerate Faith slander but yeah, Doubt is easily the odd one out on that album. This album is the hardest of 5s

Doubt is amazing wtf
Is it heresy that I like that and Faith more than Pornography?

Not to me. All 3 of those albums are god-tier for me. Doubt just feels a bit out of place with how fast and aggressive it is compared to the rest

i def come back to this and faith more than pornog. i used to be able to lean into the suffocating darkness of that album a lot better than i can now but its so exhausting to jam lol

yeah I get that, Porn does wallow in its own misery a little too much but it's still a near-perfect album. This and Faith strike a better balance between depression and sleepy aloofness

Exactly, Porno is probably the “best” or most objectively unique and accomplished of the bunch but I don’t find it a terribly enjoyable experience

I put on Faith & Pornography way more often than this. Those two albums are very coherent while this feels like a collection of great songs. I’m with Boney, Doubt is fantastic, together with Primary it provides the fuel to Faith.

I like how fragmented this album feels. Every piece fits together somehow

Doubt’s got that ripper of a bass line

The hidden gem on Seventeen Seconds is the full-vocal version of Three that they played on Reflections tour:

I've always loved A Forest. Admittedly, I haven't really listened to the rest of the album. Maybe I should do that...

Doubt may seem like an odd fitting song on 'Faith' but it does need some punch to it. I like all Cats are Grey a lot, but I don't want a whole album of that.

oh i would never actually skip it. faith is short enough (and also top 3 cure for me so i love it enough as is) and i think its absolutely beneficial and essential to the flow (although a big part of that is how it interacts with funeral party funny enough since thats how this all kicked off lol), its just the worst song on it

From this to Wish is the greatest 8 album run in music history. Best band of them all.

Album Rating: 4.5
id consider it if the top was any good but its unfortunately positioned in the worst spot from a "them having a long run of great albums" perspective. shits wack even jammed it a few days ago and like it less than i ever have
other 7 all range from great to amazing though

The Top is 4.5 for me. Shake Dog Shake, Give Me It & the t/t are all top tier, and the rest has that psychedelic appeal that makes the album very special.

The Top feels like that just in b/t album where it's not Head on the Door vibes yet but isn't as morbid as pornography.
Caterpillar is silly and fun and I remember shake dog shake but nothing else. I just don't know enough about that album hah but it always felt like that strange album no one talks about.

Check its thread on sput, there’s love for it too. It’s just very different, basically Smith’s solo work, but its tour featured an awesome line-up.
This has shitty VHS video quality, but the sound is decent, and has also interesting backstage footage: https://youtu.be/KGOBZrGW1a8
