go to www.metal-archives.com and type in cradle of filth it says they are "extreme gothic Metall" which kind of fits with the cult based fans they have aswell as some of the lyrics, and i just got hooked on the latest, nymphetamine.Good band Noice Review i may add for my final comment

Damnation And A Day is MUCH better then Nymphetamine, but Nymphetamine is a great CD. Very nice review. *claps*

Its a good album, but Filth has way better stuff. I like it though, just not as much as the other albums. Good Review.

It would be unreasonable to expect them to release anything as good as Dusk or Midian with every album. But I think this is one of their better records in a while.

sorry to say, dani's vocals brings the band's wonderfully crafted music down...on most occasions.

Depends on what tickles your pickle. Personally i think Dani's vocals are a nice break from stupidly growled lyrics trying to sound scary. Dani has a certain deel about his vocals that just make him sound inhuman, it's great in my opinion. But each to their own.

this album has alot of good songs but some songs r a bit dull and that kinda makes the rest of the album suffer... but i still loved it

I think the way Dani Filth makes his vocals is amazing to be honest.

I agree, Dani is an incredible vocalist who adds a lot to this band. However, one of the album's only downfalls in his voice. He didn't scream as high as he usually does and it sounded like he was holding back.
|
| |
yes, it was a lot more lower to fit in with the slower music.

anyone know how the hell dani does that weird crackly vocal effect towards the end of the bridge of the title track? (you'll know what i mean if you've heard it). is it him, or are there effects on his vocals?

I've heard the song but I don't know what you're talking about.
The full song or the fixed version? Can you give an approximate time in the song? This Message Edited On 11.02.05

I pretty much agree, when he does those really high screams, with no rasp or anything, it's just dumb sounding to my ears. Also his tendency to whisper in his "sexy voice" is annoying after awhile. I bought this after hearing from a friend that it's "super heavy". Turns out he only listened to the first two tracks.. I don't like it very much.

This is probably their least heavy album ever.

ShadowsFallen, im referring to the song they did the video for. im afraid i cant really give a timing, because i don't have the song, i'v only seen the video. but i remember its towards the end of the song, and he throws the mic away from him after he does the crackly bit i was on about. its almost as though hes singing through a phone when the line's breaking up. thats the best analogy i can give.

Okay, that's the fixed version. I'll watch the video and get back to you.

thanx mate. im trying to learn how to do metal vocals (as im useless at all but clean, and my band needs backing vox of both kinds!), so i thought id try a bunch of techniques.

Good review. Good album too. ALthough I do find Dani Filth's vocals to get annoying on some songs.
