Was aiming for "it's good (imo) from a technical standpoint"

I listened to and watched Ensiferum's new forthcoming single for the 'Unsung Heroes' album, but I found it to be a bit bland. I think many will be anticipating the Wintersun album much more purely because it has taken all this time to get it released.

And it will probably be a lot better.

Angry Metal Guy already posted a review for the new Ensiferum

seems like it'll be a bit heavier than their previous efforts

New Wintersun will be better than new Ensiferum? Nah

Normally I'd choose Kyle's side in this kind of argument but I'm with Angel on this one

Personally I suspect that both albums may be a real letdown for those who have been waiting in excitement for the past however-many-years. I heard brief snippets of new Wintersun material when I saw them at BOA 2011, and it didn't really interest all that much. I like Ensiferum's new sound just as much as their old one (I mean when the band changed vocalists), so we'll have to see how great the outcome really is.

Wintersun is much more ambitious in what they try to accomplish musically. That, and I've been following them since they released their debut, so I'm much more pumped for Time. But I feel like a total asshole speaking badly about Ensiferum so I won't. I love both bands too much for that nonsense, but I definitely have higher hopes for Wintersun.

I want to say "Wintersun definitely won't disappoint!" but if you asked me last week about The Faceless I'd probably say the same thing. Fuck. Now I'm nervous.

Nah, it's different. It's still enjoyable, but by The Faceless standards it's not quite up to par. A little too much blatant "borrowing" from other bands like Devin Townsend and Opeth. Planetary Duality is still one of my favorite recent metal albums, though.
