King's Crossing is the most depressing thing when you factor in what happened to him. It's full of some really cool lyrics though too.

"And I don't care if I fuck up...I'm going on a date with a rich white lady. Ain't life great?"

im glad they finished this and released it instead of holding it in a vault somewhere. although i'll always wonder what it would've turned out like if he hadn't died

It's odd to hear King's Crossing described as "inspirational". For me it's probably the bleakest song in Elliott's entire catalogue.

King's Crossing is probably the most haunting and depressing song Elliott ever recorded. All the instruments combined with this voice make it something hard to describe but it is really sad

I keep listening to 'King's Crossing' over and over and over. It's incredibly haunting. It's like he knew his life would soon be over and he is welcoming death with open arms. The bit where he sings 'I can't prepare for death any more than I already have' gives me chills every time.

Roman Candle was my first Elliott and will always have a special place in my heart. It might not be as "objectively" good as his other stuff but 'Condor Ave' and 'Last Call' affected me like no other.
