Only through Souvenir (track 5 lol) but wow this is definitely the poppiest deftones has ever sounded. It works though, the harmonies are haunting and the production is super polished. Infinite Source, Ecdysis and Souvenir sound great so far. Heard the second half of the record is a little heavier.

@Parabola I’m right at the same spot. Yup, pretty groovy so far. “Infinite Source” sounded so cool to me.

Infinite Source is the closest deftones has ever come to making a Breaking Benjamin song.

wow holy shit not a single weak song so far. i'm like how the hell are they following "souvenir"? and then "cXz" just casually slaps you in the face.
"i think about you all the time is absolutely gorgeous" x2

"departing the body" is a sonic sequel to "graphic nature" for sure.
@scoot i'm torn between a 4.5 or 5, i'd have to give it more time. will probably stop listening until release date but yeah i haven't felt like this listening to a deftones album since saturday night wrist or at the very least diamond eyes.

settled on a 4.5 for now
it's midway down in their catalogue for me, doesn't touch their absolute best and i wish there was more heaviness
