ik man im so stoked.
Hoping for AOTY, probably won’t hit that mark but idk, I really loved milk of the madonna. If that’s about how good the rest of the record is this will be one of their best for sure.
Hoping it doesn’t get the Ohms/Gore treatment live, as in I hope they actually play some songs off it. I saw them during a Gore tour and they only played Prayers / Triangles and Rubicon… then for Ohms they only played Genesis and the title track.
Very fucking lame imo, I get people wanna see the old shit but I feel like over the years I’ve probably seen literally every song off Around the Fur and most of White Pony live. Retire some of that shit. I don’t need to see half of Diamond Eyes again either. Rocket Skates is a great track but the shit gets old.

You gotta understand too is that they probably crowd tested a lot of those songs and they didn’t click in general so that’s why they stick to the hits, the singles that people gravitated to because they were the singles

Was definitely true when I saw Underoath, you could hear a pin drop when they played the Erase Me songs but everyone came unglued when they played Boy Brushed Red and Writing on the Walls, myself included.

been jamming a lot of tones lately in prep for the album / soad co-headliner next month and i've come to the conclusion that i cannot stand koi no yokan and especially diamond eyes anymore. this time 10yrs ago they were prob my two favorites of theirs and both 5s but besides a few songs i just cannot stand how those albums sound these days.
was extremely skeptical of the new album after seeing they were bringing raskulinecz back but seems like they've found a tolerable middle ground between those albums and ohms on the new singles. seems terry date has retired, with ohms being the last album he ever produced.
