@Concubinary I like the idea of reserving an EP for the more eclectic songs. I also see EPs as an opportunity for a band to present their best songs from a recording session. All bands know that every song on a typical 10-12 track album are not all gonna be bangers. I'd happily sacrifice quantity for quality. Give me a 5-song EP that I'll keep coming back to instead of an 11-song LP that wavers in quality throughout.

Oh, yeah, he stopped the Black Malachite project, go check his stuff out as Irrenoid if you're interested. he stepped up his game production wise and now has a clear direction.

Yeah 100%, Codename: Synthchip onwards is where you oughta start, everything's got a chiptune base now but he still genre bends like crazy (way more than I do ngl, the most unconventional thing I did with Waves Ablaze so far is this R&B-tinged ballad...aka shameless 808s and Heartbreak stuff)

i'm kind of in awe of how crazy his headspace for music is. makes me seem comparatively neutered and basic in all honesty. i'm doing a lot of new things lately but those new things are pretty much just turning Waves Ablaze into a progressive metal/core/djent hybrid.
