I saw that tour too Pika, and it was probably the one I enjoyed the least

Very few folks even knew that this came out, until they saw it in the record store. I remember walking into Tower Records and seeing the huge cardboard display with Bruce and Adrian back into the fold with about 1000 discs stacked in the display.
I almost went into convulsions, picked one up, and went straight to the cashier. Keep in mind, no internet yet fellas - didn't see it coming

The other 5 classics

Somewhere in time is my favourite too
Powerslave is second, but then I listen to Hallowed be thy name and start to question my choices

Hallowed Be They Name, Children Of the damned, 22 Acacia Ave, TNOTB, Run To The Hills.....hell, even The Prisoner rips, and Invaders is soooooooo underrated
I'll take it over Powerslave everyday of the week, but it's true about those middle 4 songs. They're great, but bottom tier 80's Maiden (minus No Prayer) for me. The double bookends are obviously 10/5 though.

Rime of the Ancient Mariner is one of the greatest hm songs ever recorded

especially when it comes back in after the drift

Yeah, honestly, powerslave is pretty overrated. The whole middle of the album is pretty meh. But the first two and last two tracks are all some of their best. My top three in any order is 7th son, somewhere in time, and NotB

I feel.another Maiden binge coming, especially of the post reunion era.

This and SiT have always been my two favorites. They have zero filler.
After that It's probably either Powerslave (depending on how much weight I give the bookends), Killers or Piece of Mind.

the tour for this album was fucking incredible too.....the boys were back!
when i saw them for this tour, they were on stage with dream theater and they upstaged them so hard rofl.
DT was on stage for like 40 minutes meanwhile maiden had a bunch of monsters come out onstage and fight with the guitarists.

They didn't come to Australia after 1992 till 2008 and was too young to see that FOTD tour. But did get to see them for Dance of Death at the first Download in 2003. Best show I'd seen to date

The Book of Souls
A Matter of Life and Death

To me AMOLAD is consistently good, without highs or lows. It's just one great album. I have FF in my heart (it was the first Maiden album I was anticipating) but it hasn't produced any ''classic'' Maiden songs, unlike DoD with the t/t.
