Imagine disliking a band filled with talented musicians playing music of nearly the highest degree in this genre so much that seeing their name fall down the charts makes your week. I'd love to hear this guy's album...

Welcome to sputnikmusic. It's the same thing as 4chan; websites with less moderation that practically incentivize trolling become bastions for sociopaths who like to purposely fuck with people. The people "celebrating" the ratings are these people who are trying to get a rise out of you, ignore them.

imagine taking ratings so seriously (on a washed up, super low use website that's coding looks like it was last updated in 2006 no less) that you get offended by other people's opinions of the music you listen to

I never expected this to be above a 4 anyway, so it was nice while it lasted at least.

Ngl I am kinda coming around on Tundra's take that the album may have been better off with the future left behind us and turbulent being left on the cutting room floor.
Not that they're bad songs at all but Bad Habits really does feel like that penultimate song that should be followed by the epic closer the same way Prequel to the Sequel does. It's like inserting Rapid Calm and Millions in between Prequel and White Walls

The Future Left Behind Us is probably my favorite song on here, but I can also see why some feel that it doesn't flow as well with the rest of the album.

"I think a lot of modern prog gets caught up in throwing every possible element into a song instead of trying to find dynamic ways to express a cohesive sound though."
On top of that, the actual structure of a lot of individual part have really sophomoric writing which sort of rubs off any veneer of eclecticism they'd like to have.

very much this. i really don't get the comments that call this "mindblowing" because it's just a bunch of fun sections, mediocre ideas, and cool riffs glued together. nothing here is particularly impressive even if it is enjoyable
