well since this cringe material is constantly shoved down everyone's throat by her label, adults included, having opinions is pretty fair seeing as it's practically inescapable.

Anything that does well on the radio is shoved down our throats

"Everything I Wanted" is a really great song and proves to me she has potential

Also shut up Potsy lmao

because she is a propped up industry stooge that is played constantly on radio and talked about constantly in click bait articles and videos like she is a new cultural icon. there is nothing organic about the rise to popularity with stars like this, Interscope shilled her into this position with streaming and marketing

You have to give her a little credit since her and her brother write and produce all of their music, which is probably a talking point that has been shoved down your throat also. I can't really call someone an industry plant when they are writing their own material.

Reminds me of like 99% of successful artists ....

The Rolling Stones were t-shirt salesmen

But isn't that the entire point of the profit-based industry? Everything that is not Billie Eilish is available all the time, be it streaming, articles, and whateverelse, so I don't understand this sentiment. It seems like a personal problem. Saying that there is nothing organic about her rise bleeds out the pretentious vibe to me.

But you're entitled to your own opinion so... eh.

She has enough credit that she can at least own a larger share of direct responsibility for this disaster than many artists with her scale of platform, yes.

I give her brother some credit for writing, yes. kids in general don't really care about obscure unknown albums no matter how good they are, they want to be a part of a hype train with lots of eyes on it and the label decides who that is. sure kids could stream anything that exists but they will most likely stream who is placed on top by the labels. the labels could place any artist into that position and it would be no different

In short, wake up sheeple.
I blame capitalism for foxblood's sentiment.
