Since I'm here I'll make a very general and (probably) obvious point about the vanity thing...
It's not exactly contentious to say pop-stars can display behaviours which may be interpreted as vanity, in fact some might well be vain, entitled, vacuous, arrogant etc. Many won't be, but it's not an alien or particularly controversial concept I'd imagine. However, they're in the public eye so a lot of their behaviours are there for every one to see, evaluate and scrutinise (perhaps unfairly), who's to say Joe Bloggs of *insert obscure indie band* isn't behaving like even more of an arsehole? tl;dr - their visibility makes them a target, simple point.
I also imagine being a pop-star is much more lucrative than being in an obscure band, well it is, right? Having money, fame etc. changes people, that's not to mention how having to preserve an imagine for your 'brand' must be stressful in itself and often goes against what the artist is actually like 'irl'.
Someone please decode this and tell me if it makes any sense, thanks. I realise the point was supposed to be about vanity and then I went off on a tangent.

Facts.
As a counter-point tho, I think scrutinizing the most successful artists of any genre is completely warranted. To me (and I’m sure to mega-stars like Ari and Drake) I see the popular music landscape as a business, or a market. Companies like Apple, Amazon and Facebook are constantly under watch because of how much money is constantly moving in and out, and how much influence they have on the economy. Likewise, mega stars will be under constant scrutiny as long as they have an influence on the musical economy.

Oh sure, I would never say they should be immune from criticism, just that you get a lot of holier-than-thou types with no experience of the lifestyle thinking it’s easy. Give them the same privelleges and I bet many fall victim to the behaviour they condemn, as no-one really knows how they’d cope with fame, fortune and the rest.
I’m also not saying these stars shouldn’t feel lucky to have the life they do, but it’s often a double-edged sword that the majority fail to appreciate.

the Lana feature was fine, Miley just sounded kinda out of place/inferior to Ari.
Song was pretty good, the way she says "heaven" kinda makes it for me.

Thought I'd end up with Sean
But he wasn't a match
Wrote some songs about Ricky
Now I listen and laugh
Even almost got married
And for Pete, I'm so thankful
Wish I could say, "Thank you" to Malcolm
But he overdosed on drugs and died.
