people put too much stock in the words that appear under the ratings.

Yeah I've never met anybody from Sput in real life lol (tho I'm FB friends with Snakedelilah, Gyro, Atari and Letsgofishing)

I used to revere that classic status, I think back in 2011 I had only ten 5's in history or something
Now I just look at it as meaning it is one of my top albums of the year, or something I want to see have a rating of 100 on Metacritic.

I'm just a really emotional person lol, it gets a 5 if it made me feel something special and there aren't any glaring flaws

yeah a lot of my 5's are albums that resonated with me personally and/or have really great lyrics
I probably care more about how an album makes me feel than I do how technically precise or complex it is

I’ve always ditched the rating “titles”... why does an album have to be a “classic” to be a 5? I mean, most of my 5’s are nowhere near that title status, yet here we are

imo there are albums that are 5s on cultural significance/impact but aren't necessary considered 5/5 albums by me
london calling is an example of this

seeing this band live is what made me a fan. They opened for Circa and at that point I still expected that I'd never really get into this band despite thinking what they were doing was cool, but just wasn't clicking with me. They open with The Dryness and The Rain and that's when everything finally clicked with me. One of the best bands I've seen.
I missed em in NY the other night, but I'm gonna try and catch them in Philly with The World Is... which I think is the last night of the tour

Alright guys you have sold me on this. Never listened to this band but Ordered this and Brother Sister. If I like those I’ll grab Pale Horse and Foxes.
This site recently turned me on to Thrice and I’ve been fucking loving them so I trust everyone’s taste here.

this might actually be my favorite thing they've ever done
never thought they'd top brother sister or catch for us, but this feels like a culmination of all of their past works in one

I’d be so sad if they quit after this, but it would be a hell of a record to end on for sure

My sister told me the singer sounds like Kermit the Frog in [Dormhouse Sighs] and now I can’t unhear it

I mean, we’ve all always known that his voice is super nasally. I figured the Kermit thing was sort of an unspoken truth
