Nocte's on the money, Warforged was an incredibly engrossing experience. Flawed, but certainly captivating in the darkness it spawned.

This is uninspired chugging with an occasional saxophone. Basically faux-progressive, and a disappointment in the context of their previous work.

Oh dude, I actually agree a lot with this being disappointing compared to their previous stuff, what I think this album does right is create a great atmosphere, although do still love Monarchy to quite a large margin

As you guys can see from these comments, music can be pretty much what we want to. In my case its possible to like those 3...though I find them hard to be compared...oh they have guitars...and drums I think? Yaaay my interest on checking that Shadows has increased sinificantly cause, from those usefull inputs, it probably has nothing to do with Ron, Exo or warforged.l x)

I didn't really like this the first time around, but I appreciate it a lot more now. In terms of creating a certain atmosphere I find this way more successful than their previous albums and I find the moments of ambience to be much more tasteful and effective than those by for instance a band like Fallujah.

I dig Monarchy but agree there.

Well if Fallujah is your competition these days the bar is set pretty low.

I don't get any atmosphere off of this whatsoever, it is a very linear experience through-and-through, with only hints at something greater offered to keep the audience engaged/convinced this is 'huge.' If it comes down to better overall song composition versus half-hearted stabs at ambiance, I'll take the Monarchy route.

Not sure how this is a 4.5 but Warforged is "abysmal" in comparison, when the latter is so much more capable of creating a mood.

Well, ymmv and all that :-)

As for me, I don't find the Warforged record bad at all. Couldn't really get into it either, but it's definitely not a subpar record afaic.

"Well if Fallujah is your competition these days the bar is set pretty low."

Lmao, can't disagree there.

Well I'd try it again, it's basically Flesh Prevails-era Fallujah done better than Fallujah could ever hope for.
