Yeah with this new album, I kinda want more albums and then I kinda don't.
You never know what you're gonna get until the first single is released and then you can be like ok this is what their mood on this album is gonna be.

Yeah but, at least for the last two records, the first singles ended being the worst song on their respective albums (especially true for this one, fuck that song)
|
| |
Good point, agreed. How Do You Doggo Do Delilah Whaddyameanbythat The Way or whatever the hell that song is called is easily one of their worst songs.

Lol. I actually thought the song was decent when it first came out, but I think I was forcing myself to like the new single and now I really don't care for it
I'm not sure if I'd call My God is the Sun the worst on Clockwork, but either way it still beats about half of this

Feet Don't Fail Me still grooves hard

So I finally gave this a full listen after about a year, and I'd say the best thing about it is that it's a short album. Some good moments, and even though this band is legit in my top 3 of all time, I can't give this any higher than a 3-3.5 for now.

this has grown to a solid 4 for me.
I was initially let down after LC, but after some time I've come to appreciate this one

Hope I can make my peace with this album one day, but that would involve revisiting it & that gaping wound

I feel that any hardcore Homme fans should've known this wasn't going to be a transcendent album, since that's basically what he announced following the blood, sweat, and tears experience that was his Magnum Opus (my opinion) in Like Clockwork. This is exactly the album I was expecting, so I'm not all that disappointed.

I recall him announcing that he had written an albums worth or so of songs while on the first month or two of touring LC. I had convinced myself that it was going to be songs of the same path because surely they would still be in that element and headspace. I guess that's the definition of overhyping something

I swear this album is made for drinking/doing drugs. That's when I enjoy it the most and find myself actively liking what I'm hearing.
