Man the weirdest thing just happened on my last listen... 'Let Me Out' became my favourite track. Something about the way the 2D component is handled (the delivery mixed with the bassline) takes me back to Gorillaz' glory days.

It's not bad, it's just a bit of a mess.

yeah I look at my copy of it and rarely feel like putting on cos it's not really much of a "Gorillaz" album is it
a collection of my favorites from here and the bonus disc, as well as "Sleeping Powder" is pretty satisfying selection of songs tho

Yup. Got boring real quick, and considering that this is a 20 track record that's really depressing. Still jam Saturn Barz from time to time though

those of you only listening to the 20-track version are missing out on some of the best tracks tbh

Sleeping Powder and The Apprentice are both great

No I agree the extended track version is better, but even a 20 track album getting boring quickly? Yeah, not great.

i'll say this much: it definitely doesn't feel like a new Gorillaz album has come out this year

Man totally forgot this album after seeing them play it live. Hearing it live and hearing the album, sorry but the album doesn't do these songs justice.

Ultimate flop of 2017

Yeah this is massively disappointing and seems worse coming back to it now then when I first listened to it.

lol the ultimate flop of the year was Fleet Fuckes.
live is way better, yea. Production on this is probably the worse prod on any G album... any Damon Albarn album period, maybe.

Nothing's disappointed in music for about 20 odd years for me. My greatest disappointment in that time is probably Dark Souls II tbh.

this has grown of me so badly. A lack of depth in the production and a dire need of Damon basically cripples many of the songs here.

i'd say there's enough damon. Prod is shallow yea, but it doesn't affect so many tracks, at least not that much.
But by god if this album isn't so much better live. With ACTUAL bass and drums. This needed both so badly.
Carnival live is so much better it's a shame, really.

Dude, imagine if they had recorded Humanz as a Live Album though?

Still holding out for that definitive SUPER DELUXE edition of this album to drop so we can create the perfect tracklist to save this album
