weird album. I wouldn't call it a good album but there are quite a lot of enjoyable bits on it.

this is worth checking, once more round the sun isn't tho imo

but most people seem to dig it more than the hunter so maybe it is idk anymore

this is far better than I originally thought to be honest, some of the guitar intricacies are gorgeous even if I'm not the biggest fan of the vocals in places

after a few listens, finding this doesn't have much replay value

liked that they tried to make some trippy shit again but overall I don't think I'll be coming back to this often if I want to listen to nu-Mastodon

but this is such a more cohesive listen than either of the albums before it. The Hunter was bipolar and Once More just lacked punch.

everything I've heard about this so far is spot on... i dunno, the guitars solos are pretty cool...

Dunno man I guess I feel the opposite way, to me once more has more punch than this, and the hunter at least has some highlights
This just feels a bit bland even though I can see they tried to weird it out a little bit, I still enjoy this just yeah would probs rather listen to once more

Or just any of the first four if I actually want to have a really good time

Like there's a few moments on this where I'm like ah cool that sounds like something off crack the Skye or leviathan or something, and then it's gone and it's a chorus and I'm just like oh okay

It's kind of interesting...from what I can tell Crack the Skye had a pretty mixed reception when it released, at least back on this site in 09

It certainly marked a departure from their older, heavier style. Some people weren't so hot on the new and more commercially viable sound

This seems a lot more original but a noticeably worse and unfocused compared to OMRTS

Instrument wise, this is a great album. But the vocals aren't the greatest.
