I think we may actually be getting new music at some point. All their socials said the chapter of Rheia is now over and moving on to something new.

Looks like some of the vinyl already sold out so hopefully that shows them how much love they have.
A high quality recording/video of their Roadburn set would be sweet

Yeah that’s what I want from this whole thing more than anything (aside from a new album?!?!). Even if it’s just audio but I’d really love some kind of pro shot of that Roadburn performance.
Dude, if they’re working on new music I’ll actually fucking cry. Tbh after Covid killed that run of festival appearances I thought this band was a step removed from being dead and buried, now there’s actual serious discussion on whether or not they’re working on something. My biggest fear is that they’ll lean too far into the post rock/metal direction that some of these songs have going on. I love this record but always felt the ending was probably the weakest section of the entire album because it closes on two massive downers. Don’t get me wrong, I think Where I Leave and Begeerte are both fantastic but they’re just the weakest pair of tracks here aside from 10:56, Stay Here, and I’m Sorry This Is, which all feel like different shades of interludes. That’s a lot of words to say that I just hope they don’t go too soft on us. The heavier songs here are all some of the best in the fucking genre, Second Son of R, Needles in Your Skin, and Immortals especially.

I’ve always preferred the crustier style of Eros/Anteros, and I know they would probably never return to that sound, but I agree a move into more “post” territory wouldn’t be my ideal. I just need more of Caro’s vocals in my life, so I’ll be happy with damn near anything at this point. If they could somehow match Second Son of R’s brilliance again for a whole record though, that would be a straight 100/5 album. That song is perfection.

Yeah that’s ironically probably the album’s weakest aspect: it starts off so fucking strong that it never really reaches that emotional peak again, I would say the outro to Immortals comes close but, just, goddamn man what a track. Like, there are very few songs that have left me so completely speechless by the end of it.Just 6 minutes of fury with an outro that fucking demolishes you. I still remember the first time I heard it literally almost a decade ago.
Like, even at 18 I was like “that’s one of the best songs ever written” and at 28 I still stand by that statement. I was very new to underground metal at large, but even after 10 whole ass years I still think that’s probably the absolute peak of this whole “blackgaze thing, and really just one of the best heavy songs I’ve ever heard.
“I just need more of Caro’s vocals in my life, so I’ll be happy with damn near anything at this point.”
Agreed. She was always an amazing vocalist but this is seriously one of the best vocal performances I’ve ever heard across all genres. She’s just dynamic as hell man. Her lyricism is also so damn good.
