don't care for the vocals effects on jumpsuit but the beats and instrumentals on both of these are so dope

Didn’t like “Nico and the Niners” at all but loved “Jumpsuit”

Nico was cool just not as powerful as Jumpsuit

Jumpsuit was pretty much an immediately good song, Nico is definitely a grower for me.

Is anyone getting an Alt J meets Royal blood vibe with jumpsuit? Or is it just me?

Jumpsuit sounds more like new underoath meets new don broco to me

I agree with this decision (;
There's a lot of surprisingly good moments here ("Fairly Local" and the opener) but there's also a lot of cringe ("Lane Boy"/"Polarize")

Some of the vocal melodies or lyrics kill songs for me here, for example Doubt, Fairly Local, and Message Man. If those songs had better vocal melodies I feel like the instrumentals would be much more enjoyable. They'll be moments of brilliance though interlaced in tracks that really elevate it. Heavydirtysoul would be so kickass if they just took out the "gangster's don't cry" line, its cringey af... Lane Boy and Goner are the clear standouts imo those tracks are basically flawless.

I like Lane Boy but the lyrics are terrible

The instrumentals here in a lot of places are really cool, songs like Goner are just incredible but really brought down by the lyrics
Not a big fan of Lane Boy :/
"Gangsters don't cry" was lame yeah

Lane Boy is just every pop cliche thrown together and then him saying that it's ironic so it's okay

I hate the moments in songs where he brings up gangster or any of that shit, otherwise I don't mind the general idea of the song

I don't think he's that SERIOUS though it's not such a stark critique he's just commenting on some of the problems of the music industry and sort of admitting that in a way he feels he himself has committed the same "crimes" of creating songs that are overly catchy and not necessarily loaded with the emotion he usually tries to express

They why doesn't he just not lmao

I think it sort of fits thematically with the album, its a struggle with his own personality and I think that's what he's aiming for. I could see how that could be taken much differently though.
