Yeah I don't get it. I like all their past work, even Leveler, even though it's easily their weakest

album, and I don't think any of them are on the same level as this... like at all. I might like some

aspects of other albums that this one doesn't have but as a whole this wins.

but dev, this ISN'T a regression, what are you guys even talking about.

It's an improvement on Leveler (but that was never going to be hard), but this tanks when compared to Messengers and Constellations. And I consider it a regression when it almost drops the inventiveness of the latter (even though Constellations wasn't exactly inventive, but it was less cliched that most of the stuff out there)

Fucking opinions man

Messengers is the album that got me into metalcore and I love it, but it boggles my mind when people

say it's better than this. I can understand why people like Constellations more, I don't AGREE but I

can see where people are coming from. Messengers? Nah.

Messengers will always be my favorite, but I can't argue that Constellations isn't a more mature effort.

The ending to creative captivity is pretty cool, I like the last scream over the horn when he says

"restore".

I make your words, my own.

@ dathvada, i really think that there's no comparing the brutality and in your face riffage and drumming going on in Messenger, with the more contained, yet full fledged apparatus present on R&R. EVEN THOUGH R&R has some fast n heavy tracks.

And not to undermine everything I argued in this review, but this album has lost its effect on me quite a bit. I don't think I ever thought it was a solid 4.5, but I thought it was definitely at least excellent. I'd have given it a 4.2-4.3 initially if I could. Probably should have just dropped it to a 4 though.
