Wish I could understand the love for this that others are getting, but overtime I'm becoming more and more of the mindset that Gyro has. Doesn't feel like an album that successfully creates the desolate atmosphere it seems to be going for, it just comes across as an album lacking proper substance. I think I would consider my favourite off of this a weak track if it were on their first two albums.

Nothing is Real and Jacquard Causeway are both at least top 10 BoC

Jacquard would be my top pick, and I suppose it probably would be enjoyable if it were on Geo. Idk I've tried pretty hard over the past couple years to love this, I even had it at a 4.5 not too long ago. It really just hit me recently that I have virtually zero desire to revisit any tracks from this anymore, and the whole thing falls flat when I give it a full spin.

Yeah Ocean that's a great description, and a unique perspective too

Yeah nothing on this is even remotely close to top 10 boards. Album is honestly pretty weak by their standards

it is their weakest def. some sweet songs but i'd take pretty much anything on mhtrtc or geo before any song on this

Nothing is Real is probably the quintessential BoC track for me. it's the perfect encapsulation of their nostalgic aesthetic

I've said it before but if any other band released this album nobody would have cared about it. It's especially nondescript for boards. All the intricacy of their past stuff is absent here

This album almost feels like a faded polaroid of a BoC album

Exactly. And that's what's so goddamn brilliant about it to me.
