Why have I never listened to this before??? My one mistake was listening to it in a library cause I keep wanting to groove along with it

Oh yes! I was actually listening to the first few songs less than an hour ago, coincidentally. Intro sounds like what an open sky looks like directly after sunset. Such a grand feeling, it's stunning.

Yea Intro feels so emotionally massive and definitely evokes a night time feeling

Dead Cites has demanded more listens and it’s growing on me a lot. Definitely one of my favorite bands.

this has about 5 good tracks and the rest is about as good as the other M83 albums - big and bland space filler of next to no worth

one of the worst 'bands' of the last decade, time to consign to the bin - what next?

same with sufjan’s illinois, all you need are the handful of highlights

I will say though. As much as I love this album, this band really fell off it last decade idk what happened lol

this album is very emblematic of what was on trend but hasn't aged well from indie releases between about 2005 and 2015 - P4k big n bland at its peak

Illinois is better, definitely 8 worthwhile tracks...but agreed far too much big n bland bloat, 'epic' sounding but eminently 'fluffy' non-melodic, non-meaningful filler

'Currents' was one of the (hopefully) last releases of the style

The couple times I've tried to get into this album it's seemed full of filler and then I give up.

Is anything by this band worth my time? I know they’re kinda divisive in dream pop circles. They always seemed like Pandora-core to me (mainly because my only exposure to them has been though Pandora stations)
