Album Rating: 2.5 | Sound Off
Really I feel this album's choice of direction was unnecessary when most modern prog acts are filled with enough throwback material already. Opeth were a band that had a style that was very distinct, yet this album has them sounding like various other prog acts. Most of the references are very kitschy at that, and the songwriting also feels more awkward than usual.
It isn't terrible, but I still stand by my old sound-off.
