I love how evilford is like the site’s biggest metalhead with 94% of his pie chart comprised of different types of metal and yet he’s always here reppin’ hard on Bowie. Just goes to show you quality transcends genre 😎

Yeah, it seems this is still peak Bowie...

This is his only album where everything feels essential, whereas I'm usually not completely sold on at least a couple of the cuts

There are plenty of Bowie releases I still haven't heard mind

this album is very good and interesting but I feel like it’s easier to appreciate it for how bold and unique it is than it is to actually enjoy every second of it from beginning to end like I can with Station To Station. the ambient songs are mostly good but sometimes feels like he was just playing around with synths. if someone released the second half of this today I don’t think it would get a ton of critical acclaim

Disagree with you on the ambient stuff Colt.
Given that it’s 45yrs old it still holds a distinct quality to it that if released today people would appreciate.
Subterraneans is classic.

I can def see this, but not so much with Aladdin Sane. I think it has some of his best songs but as an overall album I think it's much weaker than this

Clicked so hard I woke up with a need to get the physical record the very same day. Just couldn't wait so had to overspend in local record store. No regrets as it feels like this album benefits so much from the vinyl format.

idk man, Warszawa and Subterraneans are both pretty next-level. I can see what you mean with the shorter ones though

I've said it before and I'll say it again

I once went to Warsaw

(On a train with Iggy Pop)

What I saw

From the windows of the train

Was depressing!

But to be more on topic with the general chit chat

The ambient trax on this are elite and I adore them
