This band’s current lineup (including Corey) playing any of this material live in 2024 is a truly hilarious notion

true but I checked some of the recent live videos from this tour and they actually sound good

Why is it “hilarious”? The videos coming out look phenomenal - especially that first small show they did in California in front of only a few hundred people.

This and L.D. 50 aged magnificently as far as nu-metal goes. [2]

I often forget that Mudvayne was a good band at one point. Even their second album had a few bangers. But generally I think of all the later radio songs and HellYeah when I think of Mudvayne.

Y’all i love the Iowa album but this record makes it sound like a slipknot kidz bop record. Throw on “Me Inside” and tell me these guys ever made anything quite as vicious after this album. Nope.

Definitely their hardest mosh. I'd still pit to Eyeless m/

Dive bomb riff in the bridge of Eyeless is one of the best metal moments of all time.

Iowa is a great album and has several moments, a few songs, that harken back to the s/t but, yeah, this one is balls to the wall from beginning to end. Prosthetics, at least to me, being one of the purest Slipknot songs they've ever released. I remember the first time I heard it (I was maybe 14 or 15) and thinking, "they can make music like this?" Silly in hindsight, but this was a very affecting album for me as a teen.

Corey's clean chorus on Me Inside is one of the catchiest in all of nu-metal. Before all his choruses turned into butt-rock and I stopped listening

Iowa is great but this was better and yeah Prosthetics has always been a top 5 Slipknot song

this one is crazier but I find Iowa more consistent
"Before all his choruses turned into butt-rock and I stopped listening" +1
the awfulness of stone sour

Just saw these guys live for the 25th anniversary tour and my God, these guys kill it live. Particularly Corey Taylor’s vocals which are absolutely demonic.

I did end up seeing them in Phoenix in September, and that has to be the best they've sounded to me. Eloy is a monster of a drummer, too. Absolute power behind that kit; reminded me of Joey's playing quite a bit.
