Y’all crazy, Jesus is one of the best on the album. Degausser and Limousine would round out my top 3.

I think I liked it alright (Jesus) when I first heard it. It wore off over the years. Now I don't really want to hear it at all.

idk man I guess the more indie approach to the vocals doesn't do it a ton of favors. it's my issue with most of Daisy as well, although i ended up really liking a few songs.

I think of Daisy as more of a post hardcore album. The two albums really aren't all that comparable to me, especially in the vocal department, except for maybe a couple of the slower songs like T/t and Noro could have fit in on Devil and God.

yeah, I'd say Bed is pretty much standard indie rock for example.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that song, ha. I don't listen to it often.

yeah, I'll probably go through the rest of their work a few more times after I get it all DL'd.

Best Brand New imo - although from my rating you can probably tell I'm not the biggest fan.
If I Ever Need Attention is seriously fucking great though.

sic transit gloria was mindblowing as a 13 year old

Album Rating: 4.5
I really liked Gloria at first, but now it’s one of my least favorites here. Still a really good song though. That just illustrates just how strong of an album this is.

Sic Transit is my second least favorite here. Was one of their first I’ve heard, sadly

| |
Album Rating: 4.5
Yeah I’d say my three least favorites are Sic Transit, Jaws Theme and Guernica (not counting Tautou). But those are still 3.5 songs. The rest are 4-5.

the only other 3.5 here for me is Maradona, which I’ve never found to be one of their more engaging songs. Tommy Gun and Boy Who Blocked are the 4.5s

Album Rating: 4.5
Wow I love Maradona. A 4 1/2 for me. My favorites here (which I’d all give 4.5 or 5) are I Will Play My Game, Okay I Believe You, The Quiet Things, Maradona and The Boy Who Blocked.

"not counting Tautou"
but that's far and away the best thing on here
|
| |
Album Rating: 5.0
Tautou is such an anomaly. It's too good to be dismissed as an intro/filler/lead-in track but there's not enough going on to immerse yourself in it as a real song. I always wished they fleshed that out to lead somewhere, but who knows, maybe they didn't have any good direction to take it and preferred to have an awesome short song instead of an average full length one.
