idk i mean money really isn't an issue since i get like $2200 per quarter just to go to school lol
i think after $100 my ears can't tell the difference, but in terms of comfort and mixing (i.e. i don't like overstressed bass) headphones vary a lot. also i wouldn't move them around much so i'm pretty sure open headphones would be better, but at the same time on a long road trip or something they won't tune the world out as well.

yea i have some really cheap earbuds that honestly serve the purpose okay (i'm not too concerned with audio fidelity when i'm exercising), but i actually tend not to listen to music when i exercise (running or lifting) because nothing I listen to is good exercising music
