On first listen I like it more than The Silent Circus mainly because they implement more metal over deathcore verses. I really love how their vocalist sings, and he doesn't fail to impress here.

What about it makes you rate less than 4? For me, I can't rate 4 on any of their albums so far for the simple fact that the band relies on and overuses unmusical verses. For example, Roboturner just came on and started out with a nice scream and then just a horrible, unoriginal alternate picking verse that makes no sense musically and deserves the criticism users give breakdowns in scenecore. It's the same principle; overuse of an often under thought technique. And for that I get why elitist users here hate this band.



For the rest of what the band does (occasional epic riffs and vocals) I'd rate 4.5 on both their first two.

structure of their music and all disjointed prog stuff can be really rewarding, and more captivating than a song with a defined structure. I agree the band is not for everyone, but I'll always be a huge fan simply due to the musicianship, the insane diversity, and the simple fact that I have so much fun with their music. The fun that I find in something like Colors or Parallax more elitist users call "stupid" or "boring" or "uninspired", but I have to disagree almost every time. I really love what this band does, but at least youre actually giving the band a chance

I know that feeling. After many full listens of the first two albums, I still don't feel rewarded because the band seems to kill the feeling just when it's getting good. I've said before that they seem unexperienced, not consistent on execution and timing, and that ends up making them sound unprofessional musically.



Back to the being rewarded, I agree with you and understand what you mean. I don't think I've heard any bands build up the awesome parts like this band. Like I said, their execution and overall engagement is off. I some times feel like "What the fuck are they doing?" when they just keep going with bland single-tone screaming and uninspiring guitar and then suddenly get all god like with a huge riff.
