If you like this album that much then that's great, it has a few good songs, a great one in 'Private Hell' - I am just a bit disappointed in Cantrell as 'Boggy Depot' and 'Degradation' showed promise....this showed a little promise...then he's tanked.
I think he had a better version of 'Boggy Depot' in him, possibly a minor classic, but I personally hate the metal band nostalgia touring scene.
People still want to see Black Sabbath ahead of a genuinely exciting new act, that's how it has been for twenty years now. AIC have joined that whole dinosaur scene that the devil put here or whatever. No new blood, no new ideas, dinosaur acts with replacement parts - a freak show of sorts.
Rock in 2018 is a reanimated corpse, this album is Exhibit A.

The spirit died decades ago Doof dude.
Safe, easy conformity is the ticket. The saps love it.

Zak I honestly thought there'd be a revival of sorts by now...nothing
I still have a few buddies who don't get why I don't really want to see AIC or Black Sabbath in 2018, locked in nostalgia.
Stone Temple Pilots have a new singer - sign me up! That'll be a tour to remember

I'm not that bitter because there are still good bands and great gigs out there - just not really in the genre of rock.
'Rock' is as musty as dressing up as Elvis to watch a tribute act or being a Beatlemaniac weekender nowadays
Basically a niche nostalgia hobby that makes the rest of society look at you with a mix of incredulity and pity. Probably rather admit to being a stamp collector than a 'rock fan' now.

lol doof.
Don’t be silly new STP is fucking amazing!! Listen to the tones on it, rivals In Utero! They’re far and away better musicians.

STP could actually be good....aargh....this is how they get you.

Only old timers who really impressed me live in the last ten years were Soundgarden.
So you see, Cornell had to die, too pure for this earth.

Pour STP on it and set it alight. Be rid of it.

SitarHero, you have a Steel Panther album 5'd, which you have every right to do of course.
Ironic or no, that says everything to me.
You are fully signed up. Peace be with you.

DarkSide - never caught Pearl Jam, that is one of the old timer bands I'd still like to go see.
They aren't as much of a cynical nostalgia act though, they are more a throwback to the way a Rolling Stones or a Springsteen operate or whoever.
Tend to do a lot of their own big shows, never stopped releasing new material, just a regular old school rock band.

Strongly recommend them if you ever get the chance, man. I actually wasn't TOO crazy about them until I saw them at Madison Square Garden back in 2009, now I follow them around wherever if I can get tickets.

This band always knew how dial in some really nice guitar tones. Those Friedman amps I tell ya

Now you've got me curious. Please tell me what that says to you both ironic or no, dear wise Doof.
